FOLK ART CARVINGS

All of our Folk Art Carvings are made from 100% recycled wood. Untreated dock pilings,
power line poles and old structural support beams are used. Each piece is hand carved
and painted, every piece of wood has its own characteristics giving all the carvings a
unique personality with old peg holes and character lines in different places.

The “character lines” in the carvings won’t open any further. They are created by trapped
moisture that we remove by torching the carving until it glows red and brush away the
loose char. This raises the grain of the wood while getting rid of excess moisture.
